Birthday Boxes for Kids & Teens
Earning our Junior Bronze Award
The City Life Sayonara Center helps kids and teens in a very challenged community spend their afternoons in a safe, drug-free, and violence-free place. They focus on homework, eat healthy snacks, and are cared for.
In order to help the students at the center feel special on their birthday, our troop decided to create Birthday Boxes. We shopped for and assembled birthday supplies and goodies into boxes, enough for each youth. Each box includes cake mix, frosting, candles, decorations, streamers, balloons, crayons/pencils, notebooks, jewelry, toys, and more.
We raised project funds through our troop’s cookie sales, yard sale, and community donations.
